Hustyns & Porthilly Shellfish

Team Hustyns were lucky enough to be invited along to local shellfish farm, Porthilly Shellfish, to learn all about how the Oysters and Mussels we have on our menu are farmed sustainably.

Porthilly Shellfish is a family run business owned by Tim Marshall who comes from five generations of farmers.

The Marshall family has perfected the art of Oyster farming over more than 30 years, and now grow and supply Oysters, Mussels, Clams and Samphire to both Local and International eateries.

Not only are they farmed Sustainably, but the Shellfish actually have a positive impact on the local ecosystem by filtering the water and reducing Nitrogen and Carbon levels.

The Porthilly Oysters we have on our menu are high in Vitamin D, Zinc and Magnesium, and will be travelling just 9 miles from farm to plate.

Hustyns & Camel Valley Vineyard

With the aim of supporting local produce as much as possible, Team hustyns went along to the Famous Camel Valley Vineyard to experience the wine tour.

The guided tour is available Monday – Friday from 10.30am, and gives an insight into the hard working Lindo Family and this incredible business they created from scratch. For more than 33 years Bob and his wife Annie have been planting, growing and learning about vines and the wine making process which they now have down to a “T” & Porthilly Shellfish

We are proud to support this great local business, which can be found just 4 miles away from Hustyns Resort Cornwall.

We have a special selection of Camel Valley Wines which have been rigorously tried and tested by our team members available on our wine menu- just ask for more information and recommendations.
